Beach rentals and gear

What's waiting in the garage, and where to rent everything else — chairs and umbrellas, golf carts, bikes, and boats.

First, what's already here: basic beach gear, beach towels, and a few toys are in the garage for you to use. Beach umbrellas are not provided — the Gulf wind destroys them — so if you want shade, rent it on the beach or pick one up locally.

On the beach

    Beach chair & umbrella setups

    Vendors operate daily along the public beach through the season. Rent by the day or the week; the week rate is usually much better value.

    Watersports rentals

    Jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks and parasailing operate from the beachfront vendors along Front Beach Road.

Getting around

    Golf carts

    Popular locally and street-legal on many roads here — a few rental companies operate right along Middle Beach Road.

    Bikes

    Beach cruisers by the day or week. The flat beach road makes for easy riding.

    Scooters

    Available seasonally along the strip.

Boats and bigger gear

    Pontoon boats

    Half or full day from the Grand Lagoon marinas — the flexible way to reach Shell Island.

    Fishing charters

    Deep-sea and inshore, running from the marinas year-round.

    Baby gear

    The house has a Pack 'n Play and a high chair. For anything more, local baby-gear rental services deliver.
